FAQ

Read about the most frequently asked questions about Collagen and Collamin.

The word collagen comes from the Greek word “kólla”, which means glue. Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body and a basic component of skin, bones, ligaments, cartilage and joints.

Collagen peptides are small fragments of the collagen protein. They are split by a gentle process with enzymes. Due to their small size, they are perfectly bioavailable for cartilage. The high content of glycine, proline and hydroxyproline, which make up more than 40% of the total spectrum of amino acids in Collamin collagen peptides, makes the product unique among protein hydrolysates, as the content of glycine and proline is 10 to 20 times higher. Thanks to their special form, they are recognised by the cartilage cells and can stimulate the body’s own collagen production there. This makes them ideal for a healthy diet. In the form of a neutral tasting and smelling powder, immediately soluble, it can be easily mixed with water, milk or fruit juices and consumed cold. Collagen peptides are proteins that act as real cell boosters. Due to their special shape, they are recognized by the cartilage cells and can stimulate the production of the body’s own collagen. Therefore, they are ideal for a healthy diet. In the form of an odorless and tasteless and instantly soluble powder, it can easily be stirred into water, milk or fruit juices and consumed cold. Collagen peptides are proteins that act as true cell boosters.

Amino acids are organic molecules that play an important role in the body. The essential amino acids must be absorbed through the daily diet, as they cannot be synthesised by the human body. Collamin’s collagen peptides contain 9 of the 10 essential amino acids. Semi-essential amino acids are non-essential amino acids that cannot be synthesised in sufficient quantities by the human body due to Human age (from 25-30 years), the recovery phase after intense sports activity, the recovery phase after illness or injury, prolonged physical exercise.

A total of 10 to 30 grams per day is recommended. Dissolve one to three measuring spoons or sticks of Collamin in your preferred liquid. Collamin can be consumed at any time of the day.

The collagen has no severe side effects and is safe to take if you consume between 10 and 30 grams of collagen per day. In rare cases, slight accompanying phenomena can occur, such as bad breath, slight digestive problems, fullness and heartburn. This can occur with an unfamiliar intake of animal proteins. In this case, we would advise you to start with a smaller amount of collagen (e.g. 5g) and then slowly increase to the desired dosage.

Collamin products contain type I and III collagen, which make up 90% of the collagen in the body. Even though Collamin products don’t contain type II collagen, types I and III equally benefit type II tissues. Regardless of the type, collagen is always broken down into the same bioactive blocks in our digestive tract.
